     What is Variable? Define various kinds of variable with example.

    Answer:

Variable: A characteristic which varies over the units or (unit to unit) is called variable.

Various kind of variable: We can classify the variables according to the characteristics into two groups.

              (a)    Qualitative variable.

              (b)   Quantitative variable.

Qualitative variable: There are many characteristics that cannot be present any numerical from but we can arrange them according to their quality or attribute. These types of characteristic are know a Qualitative variable.

Example: Sex, Occupation, color.

Quantitative variable: The characteristics of an unit or item that are expressed in numerical form it’s called Quantitative variable.

Example: Monthly family income. How many students is the varsity.
