measurements of scale of measurements?
Answer:
To
measure a variable there are various ways. We classify the four scales of
measurements.
1.Nominal Scale.
2.Ordinal Scale.
3.Interval Scale.
4.Ratio Scale.
Nominal Scale: A
scale that measures a variable nominally or by name without any order is called
nominal scale.
Example:
Religion, Color, Sex.
Ordinal Scale: A
scale that identifies the value and meaningfully orders it’s called Ordinal
Scale.
Example: Low= 1, Middle class= 2, Higher class=3.
Interval Scale: A scale
which includes a definition of distance between the categories in terms of
fixed and equal units is called interval scale.
Example: Temperature, I.Q scores.
Ratio Scale: The scale of measurement which includes all
the properties of an interval scale including the concept of zero is called
ratio scale.
Example: Summation subtraction multiplication.
