Explain the processing steps of an instruction of CPU.

Instruction: Computer instructions are a set of steps or documentation that includes information or how to operate perform or otherwise maintain particular computer software or hardware.

The processing of an instruction of CPU: A standard process describes the steps needed for processing to the place. It is called Fetch-Decode-Execution cycle.

First of all, both the data and the program that acts upon the data are loaded into main memory (RAM) by the operating system. Then, the CPU carries out is to fetch some data and instructions form main memory then store them in its own internal temporary memory areas. This is called Fetch.
The next step is for the CPU to make sense of the instruction it has just fetched. The CPU is designed to understand a set of commands. These are called the instruction set of the CPU.
The CPU decodes the instruction and prepares various areas within the chip in readiness of the next step. This is the part of the cycle. When data processing actually takes place; the instruction is carried out upon the data.

Once the execute stage is complete, the CPU sets itslf up to begin another cycle once more.
