What are the basic truths of communication? Briefly discuss.

Business communication shares with other kinds of ‘communication three foundational truths.

(i) Meaning is in the mind and no two Minds are like: No experience come to us unmediated by our own. Our frames of reference, abilities & circumstances; In the process of understanding & solving a communication problem you use the mental resources you have to construct a vision of the situation & a sense of purpose.

(ii) The symbols for communicating are imperfect, & so are our best communication Efforts: bypassing occurs when communications are unaware that they are using the same word in different ways.

(iii) Communication is about information & Relationships: Communication always involves human relation it also involves ethics.

Each message is an effort to engage other person shape their attitudes, & influence their behavior.
